The builder is designed to feel like the rest of the WordPress 7 admin: the same type, spacing and controls, with a live canvas in the middle.
The canvas
The canvas renders your form with its real styles. Colors, radius, spacing and input variants update as you change them, so what you see is what visitors get. Select a field to edit it, drag to reorder, and drop new fields between existing ones.
The field library
SubtleForms ships 40+ field types:
- Basic: text, email, phone, name, address, hidden, rich text.
- Choices: dropdown, radio, checkboxes, toggle, picture choice.
- Scales: rating, scale, NPS, slider, matrix.
- Media and dates: date and time, file upload, signature.
- Structure: section heading, page break for multi-step forms, repeater, custom HTML.
- Payments: product, priced options, custom amount, fixed fee, order summary, coupon.
- Privacy: GDPR consent.
Conditional show and hide
Any field can be shown or hidden based on another answer. Open the field settings, add a rule such as Service is Website consultation, and the field appears only when the rule matches. SubtleForms Pro adds advanced conditional logic for more complex cases.
Form settings
- Confirmation: a message or a redirect, with merge tags.
- Notifications: email your team on each new entry.
- Scheduling and limits: open and close dates, a maximum number of entries, or login required.
- Spam protection: honeypot and time trap, plus reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha or Turnstile.
- Data retention: remove old entries automatically.
Multi-step forms
Add a Page break field wherever you want a new step. Visitors move through the steps with next and back buttons. Pro adds multi-step enhancements.
